The American Charity Calendar is launching it's 2nd year and 2nd online art contest. We will be looking for a talented new artist to illustrate the unique "windowed" 2009 paper Charity Calendar. The theme this year is: "The Magic of the Winter Holidays". This year we also invite our artists to create a profile on our new online gallery where they can upload and share their artwork with others. After we announce the winner of the contest September 15th and also show the runner-up artists artwork.

The Charity Calendar will interact daily with our episodic YouTube series, "Holiday TV", starting December 1st and ending December 25th. The format of Holiday TV will be announced later this year. Check out the 2008 Holiday TV here.

Our first American Charity Calendar 2008 was illustrated by the talented 23-year-old Jada Fitch from Sebago, Maine.

A similar concept has already proven to be a huge success in Denmark. Since 1962, many talented Danish artists have illustrated "The Danish Christmas Calendar" annually and at least 25 different television productions have been successfully produced over the years. For 45 years, Danish Xmas Calendar proceeds have been donated to many noble children’s charities. > read more
