TACC Foundation (The American
Charity Calendar) is a non-profit corporation whose main purpose is to annually raise money to help children who live in severe poverty. The profits from the sales of the unique paper TACC calendar will be donated to benefit a specific children’s charity such as Vitamin Angels, Direct Relief,The Children’s Defense Fund, United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Oprah’s Angel Network, ONE etc.
Each year’s donations would be designated to a specific project; for example Vitamin Angels would distribute vitamins to prevent blindness to children in Bangladesh. The next year’s donations could be given to aids orphans in Africa via Oprah’s Angel Network etc.
An informational pamphlet about the designated charity will educate and bring more awareness to the specific project that we are raising money for. Showing pictures and telling stories about children in crucial need will inspire people to help - especially at a time of year where giving and sharing are the true reasons for the season.

Vitamin Angels Vitamin A/ Childhood Blindness Prevention Program addresses Vitamin A Deficiency (VAD) around the world. VAD affects between 100 to 140 million children every year, of which 250,000 to 500,000 go blind. The primary cause of VAD is chronic malnutrition and a lack of red, green, yellow and orange, leafy fruits and vegetables. Our Vitamin A/ Childhood Blindness Prevention Program administers two high doses of vitamin A, along with two antiparasitics, per child, per year. The antiparasitic is necessary because parasites love to consume vitamin A. Our cost for the vitamin A, the antiparasitics, logistics, education and administration is .25 cents per child, per year. Over the span of four years and during the time in a child’s life when they are most vulnerable to VAD (age 2 – 5), our cost is $1.
The cost to prevent a single child from going blind due to Vitamin A deficiency for one year is .25 cents. Over the course of four years, when children are most vulnerable, our total expense is $1. This covers the cost of two high dose vitamin A and anti-parasitic supplements given each year to a child from the ages of 2 to 5.
About Vitamin Angels (www.vitaminangels.org)
Humanitarian aid is becoming increasingly important around the globe as natural disasters intensify in both severity and frequency, and as malnutrition continues to ravage third world countries. More and more, philanthropy supports the concept that addressing issues relevant to malnutrition will have the most immediate and measurable effect on the future of developing nations. Statistics show that over 30% of the world’s population suffers from micronutrient deficiencies.
Vitamin Angels is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing vital nutrition in the form of supplements, to developing countries, communities and individuals in need. Vitamin Angels has set its sights on the issue of childhood blindness, with plans to eliminate childhood blindness by the year 2020 through the systematic distribution of vitamin A to at-risk children. Just $1 provides sufficient funding to preserve the sight of one child. In addition, Vitamin Angels sponsors programs to supply multivitamins to at-risk children and vital supplements to expecting mothers. Vitamin Angels programs and initiatives are funded through the support of generous monetary and in-kind donations from companies and individuals seeking to making a difference.
