TACC Creative Relay Writing Project

Dear Potential Creative Writers,

TACC Foundation is looking for 25 brilliant writers who want to donate their time and talent for a new experimental creative “relay-style” writing project for TACC Foundation’s big annual fundraiser. TACC will create a "profile" web page for each writer to share any information about themselves. 

The 25 talented writers will follow the same master “story universe/bible”. The first writer pens the first 400 words (max. 750) for the first story segment, then pass on his/her segment to the next writer who will continue the story in his/her own words in 400 words (max. 750)...and so forth. Story aimed for children over 8, young adults, their families and adults (“Harry Potter” age).

The story will be published online Dec. 1 with the 1st segment and end Dec. 25 with the conclusion of the story.  For 25 days, audiences will follow the spontaneous and entertaining story written by an incredible ensemble of creative writers.

The story will interact with the Charity Calendar (in the style of an Advent Calendar) that consist of 25 “windows” that has a hidden picture behind each “window”. Daily, a “window” is opened, starting Dec. 1st –Dec 25th.  Each writer is given one word that describes one of these 25 hidden pictures and they will creatively weave the word into their story segment.
 
The Charity Calendar will be sold online and all the profits will be donated to “Inspire A Mind” summer camp program. “Inspire A Mind” is a hands-on, self-sustainable, mentoring camp program partially inspired by Waldorf Education.  Inspire a Mind is free for our underserved youths in our community and also offered at low cost to any other children who are interested.
